Planning - Ancillary Task 2 - Magazine Front Cover

The colour scheme that I plan to use for the front cover is red bold text for titles of articles and the main text that is on the screen such as the magazine name and all of that information. I will use white for the secondary text such as the tag line at the very top and "Explore Jess Cooper's", the red with white accents fits the colour scheme of the film's marketing and fits with the colour scheme that I want the magazine to have. The font i will use is the font that I used in this plan for the title and surrounding text I will use 'Adobe Gothic STD B' and for the main film title I will use the branded font of 'Agency FB' in bold and for the rest of the text I will use 'Calibiri' such as for article descriptions.

The head of the main character will slightly overlap the magazine title, this is a convention of all magazines and is a style choice that I plan to have on my front cover as well. The information such as the date of the publication and the web address will all fit around the title and the portrait of the main character. The bar code will be found overlapping the images of the films in this issue, in the bottom right of the cover where there is the most room for it and it blocks the least amount of information.

Planning - Ancillary Task 1 - Teaser Poster

In the poster I plan to show both sides of the film and the main character's first arrest, on one side is the idea of being proud and the abundance of lighting shows her happiness and pride and is almost angelic as she is a police officer and they are law abiding and never do anything wrong like an angel. Then, on the other hand, we see the dark and dangerous gang member that she arrested and the darkness implies that he is mysterious and that he is the antagonist of the film, it shows that this is the criminal she arrested, the one who will get his revenge on her. The image does not give any of the plot away, it sets the genre of the film as a thriller as there is the mystery of the characters and the shadows on the antagonist, the holding of a weapon by the antagonist can imply the action element to the film.

The text will be in either in the fonts 'Bebas' or 'Agency FB' (as seen above) and will be in red, which is a convention of posters of this genre and plot and will help to reinforce the thriller genre. The text is placed in the middle at the bottom to be in the middle of both characters and as it is in the bottom it is not too distracting from the image and stays out of the way. I will write 'Coming Soon' underneath in the same style just smaller text as it is not as important information as no date of release would have been set if it is a teaser poster.

The poster is very minimal as I do not want to give too much away just yet as it is only a teaser poster and later posters would reveal more about the film, it follows the conventions of the other posters I had looked at for similar films.
